I Survived!

My little wild child decided to unleash on us this weekend! Since he has learned to crawl and pull himself up on things, he has been unstoppable. That means I am absolutely exhausted! Friday night in Tellico, Caleb decided he didn't want to sleep in his Pack N Play. We both crawled into bed and Daddy had to sleep on the couch! Daddy got up and went fishing at 4:00 am on Saturday. I suppose Caleb is prepping for fishing mornings because he woke up at 6:15! We got up and got ready for the day and took a walk to see the ladies at the Green Cove store. Caleb was his normal charming self! After climbing over everything when we returned to the camper, we finally were able to lie down for a nap. When he woke up, he was ready to go, go, go! Luckily Aunt Tara and Zoey were awake and we took a walk down River Road. Tellico was nice and enjoyable this weekend. Caleb tried his best to climb all over his Granny's chairs and chew on them. He was absolutely all over the place! And it was this way all day long! Granddaddy and Uncle David took us on a Jeep ride and Caleb saw his first horses. By the time bathtime rolled around, my child was just exhausted! When we got home last night, I took inventory of the damaged from the day: I have a huge bruise on my right hip, two on my calf, and one really large one of my left wrist. How I got them, I have no idea! I suppose it was making superhuman efforts to keep up with my active child. When I think of it, I know this is probably going to be the fastest I've ever gotten into shape. How could I not??? Now that I think of it, I was so busy that I didn't even get a chance to take pictures. Thank goodness Mom and Debbie had their cameras out!

Ryan and I are pretty much finished baby-proofing the house. We have a couple things left to do, but we're ready! Ryan held Caleb for about ten minutes while I rested yesterday and he got a taste of my day! I think I earned some extra respect from him....

My great uncle, David, joined us in Tellico this weekend and we all had such a good time. That's what I love most about Tellico: my family gathers there! It feels like we're so busy during the week with everyday life that we don't get a chance to enjoy the most important things. Tellico makes us slow down and spend time with the ones we love. Generations of my family have loved Tellico and it feels like such a huge part of me as a person. Dad has said several times that he has never felt closer to God than sitting on a river bank in the early morning hours enjoying His creations. Mom has told stories of sitting on rocks by the Tellico River and watching my dad fish. She prayed for God to bless her with children there. Ryan and I are raising our family by the Tellico River. I think it's the closest we get to Heaven right now....

  1. Doesn't it seem like they grow up all at once?!

But, it's wonderful little one can crawl now!! Easy for me to say, but soo cute when they're hitting those milestones! :-)
