Peace

"A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones."

Proverbs 14:30

When you have a "heart of peace" you are a content individual; one who puts your trust in God’s will rather than your own. When you are at peace with yourself (your heart), you are a happy person; a satisfied person; a person who embraces life. Who wouldn't want this for themselves???

However if you are envious and have jealousy in your heart, it is like a disease that destroys your well-being. When we direct our energy towards craving what other individuals have instead of appreciating what God has already given us, it can be spiritually dangerous. It can literally make a person sick in mind, heart, and body. Envy brings decay and corruption of the spirit. People go on for years with this in their hearts, minds, and souls.

"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." John 14:27

Jesus reminds us that it is His peace — peace from Him alone — that allows us to face life’s troubles without fear and trepidation. His peace is abiding, powerful, life-changing, lasting. The world’s so-called “peace” is often just a feeling that results from man’s faulty methods and philosophies, none of which have brought lasting peace to this earth.

Don't misunderstand me....

Even through prayer and a close relationship with the Lord, we will still have troubles. That's just life! But the way we deal with those troubles, cope with them, and get through them depends on our relationship with God. Where can you find peace through the tough times???

Only through prayer!
It's all about trusting Him and allowing Him to work wonders in your life....

As I learn more about God's gift of peace in my life, I am amazed at how easy I can make it on myself! Instead of working against God by trying to do things my own way and making life happen for myself, I just give in and trust him! How simple! It's amazing that we have such a forgiving and gracious God that we can do that with!

If you're struggling with inner demons, stop doing what you're doing! Just stop and pray. It takes much more energy to navigate life alone! Let His love and peace surround you!
