A Very Merry, White Christmas

I have been away for a few days since the stepbabies are here and Ryan and I are taking our vacation. Bryce and Madison came in on the 23rd and it has been a whirlwind of activity since!

This week Caleb has got a lot of time to spend with Pop, Ryan's father.
This week was the first time they have met!
Ryan's father lives out west and hasn't been able to make it to Chattanooga for a few years.

After Caleb went to bed, we played around with the camera....

Awwww, I just love him!

On Christmas Eve, Madison and Bryce got a really nice surprise from Nana and Pappy:

Their very first big kid bikes!!!!!

We started a tradition of opening stockings on Christmas Eve this year.
The kids were so excited about everything we just couldn't make them wait it out!

Miss Madison was examining her new stuff....

Magically, Santa appeared with gifts during the night...
Here is Caleb's pile!

Bryce and Madison's gifts were left on the couch...

Santa was really good to us all this year!

"I really, really got a DS?!?!?!"
Bryce was so super excited about his awesome DS!
He has literally not put it down since!

When we looked outside, we realized we got a white Christmas this year!
This is the first time in my whole life I've had a white Christmas!

We went over to Mom and Dad's for Christmas breakfast and look who was waiting for us:

Is she not just the cutest thing ever???

The insanity of all the gifts at Mom and Dad's!
Yes, I got my Cricut cake decorating thingy!
I am so super excited and cannot wait to cut fondant!

All the kids checking out their new stuff with Aunt Tara...

We got about four inches of snow!!!!

Pop came over for some more presents and fun....

And Caleb really got interested in Bryce's DS!

This is part one of our crazy snowed in Christmas...More later!
The kiddies are calling!

"We're Moving On Up...."

What does this song possibly have in common with my life right now???

We're moving!!!!!
Yes, Island Cove's parts department is literally "Movin' On Up"!
Since the company who rented our showroom left out, we are going to use the space as our new Parts Department!!! We're getting almost double the room! The current problem: moving all of the crap from one place to the other. We literally have rare parts from the 70's and they are in need of a good cleaning!
Oh, and did I mention the chaos??? Right here at Christmas??? With our Parts Manager on vacation???
Yep, this is my life right now....I'm trying to accomplish work all day and have to listen to hammers banging while the guys are putting new shelves together. Fun, right?

What gets me through the long days right now?
Maybe just seeing him before I go to work...

This is his "Mommy, for Heaven's sake" face!

Ham and Cake Balls!

No, not together!!!

I made a ham the other day and wanted to just give you the recipe...

I took a spiral cut ham and placed it cut side down in a pan. Then poked holes in it and topped it with brown sugar and one can of Coca Cola. I baked it on 350 degrees for ten minutes per pound. I also took toothpicks and stuck cherries and sliced pineapples on it. I covered in foil for the baking process. Let me tell you, this is just awesome!!!

Ryan has already eaten maybe half of it....

Now I borrowed the cake balls recipe from Kelly's Korner and also my cousin, Amanda, makes them and has just raved about them!
I changed mine up a little and they are so wonderful!

I baked a chocolate cake according to the package directions. As soon as it came out of the oven, I crumbled it into a large bowl. I made sure there were no large pieces. Then I mixed in a tub of chocolate icing. When everything was moist, I stuck it in the fridge for an hour. Then I took a small scoop and made the little cake balls. Last, but certainly not least, I melted chocolate chips and dunked them in to completely cover them. I set them out to harden and instant happiness occured!!! Ryan came in and devoured about four. That is entirely too much chocolate at one time, but when you start eating them you literally cannot stop! They are beyond heavenly!
If I can find the time, I am going to try a lemon cake with white chocolate next. I'm hoping I can get them done before Christmas, but we have a ton going on this week!

Ryan's dad got into town from Texas this morning, my stepkids are arriving in two days, and I still haven't wrapped all of the gifts! Eeek!

The Birthday Girl!

Yesterday my beautiful neice, Zoey, turned one! We had her party on Saturday and she was such a princess!!!

It seems like her bubbly personality has developed overnight!
It's not unusual to hear her just squeal with delight.
Her castle cake was chocolate with whipped cream...
Cinderella was the topper.
My mom designed and made the cake!

We all can't believe we've had these beautiful babies in our lives for a year!

We are just so blessed!

Little Miss Zoey was lovin' this balloon!

She got a dancing Mickey Mouse for her birthday too and this is what she looked like when she saw him!

Just pure joy!

Caleb just loves Uncle Eddie!
He has really become a Granddaddy's boy....
Whenever he sees my dad, he starts saying "Ga-da-da"!
He tries so hard to say Granddaddy!
It's too cute!

They love playing together now!

A very proud Granny holds Zoey for her first bite of her birthday cake!
Covered in Cake!!!

And in time for her first birthday, Zoey had her very first tooth break through!

Miss Zoey,

We are so blessed to have you in our family! A year ago, I was sitting in the hospital waiting room. I asked your Aunt Debbie what the time was and I knew you were here!  Turns out I was right. I fell in love with you the moment I saw you. I never want to forget the joy and laughter that you have right now. You are so very precious to me and I cannot wait to watch you grow into a beautiful woman. You are such a Mommy's girl right now, but I look forward to the day we can be buddies!

Ho, Ho, No.....

My poor, distressed kid did not enjoy visiting Santa this past week! Maybe if the child before him hadn't acted like Santa was killing her, he may have tolerated him for just a couple of minutes. But, that just isn't the case this year!

This is the difference a year makes...

Notice something special???
Same Santa!

The Puppy Hat

Can you tell Caleb was mad at us this morning??? Not only did Daddy put his jacket and socks on him, but Mommy stuck this ridiculous looking puppy hat on him! Ha! I found the matching hat and mittens at Toys R Us yesterday and he just had to have them! We did not attempt to mittens this morning because he was already so upset at us! By the time he realized how cold it was outside, he forgot all about being mad at his layering....

Speaking of Chattanooga's rotten weather, Ryan and I made the smart decision of hunkering down at the house and watched Mythbusters all night! We got quite a bit of freezing rain and the whole porch was covered in ice last night. We woke up this morning and thankfully the temperature began to rise. The only problem is that our steps iced us in! We had to go through the garage, but other than that it was just fine getting to work. Those people who ventured out last night saw some pretty nasty road conditions...

I realized this morning that my blogs of choice lately have really changed. I am totally loving the whole interior decorating blogs right now. Ryan cringes when he hears me talk about them because he knows it will lead to me wanting to change things around the house! I thought I would share a few of my favorites with you....
