Ooh la la!!!

I'm so excited! I have decided to throw my future sister-in-law a lingerie shower! Since she already has a beautiful home set up it wouldn't make since to throw her a regular bridal shower. I created an electronic invitation and emailed them to select friends and family members. I have so many ideas for the decorations and cannot wait to get started! Too bad I have to wait a couple of weeks! I promise to post pictures. I believe this type of shower could easily lean towards the raunchy side, but I plan on having a very romantic and elegant atmosphere.

Ryan hung a picture on the fridge this morning. One day last week, Madison drew a picture of our family for the first time. It was just too sweet not to share with you guys!

She drew Bryce, herself, Ryan, me, and Caleb (crawling, of course)!
I think I may actually scrapbook this one day.
I'm really sentimental over it and I believe it shows how the kids finally feel like we're all a family now.
It's more than any stepmom could ever dream of...

Caleb and I visited Tara and Zoey last night for our wedding planning. Mom, Debbie, Tara's mother, and Tara's stepmom were all there as well. I feel like we got quite a bit of things going and hopefully are all on the same page now! This is really the first time Caleb and Zoey got to be turned loose with each other and they were hilarious!!!
Babies everywhere at Aunt Tara's house!

"Wanna trade pacis?"

We're going to have to watch the kids about this! Caleb crawled over and snatched Zoey's paci out of her mouth. Before we knew it, she did the same to him!

Aren't they cute????

This morning Caleb decided to grab the remote from Daddy.
They were so cute about it too. Ryan would take it back and put it on the couch. Caleb would climb right back up, walk over to it while holding on, and grab it back!

Buddies even if they fight over the remote!

I will prepare you before I post the next picture.....

If you have a weak stomach and get grossed out easily, I beg you to stop now.....

My buddy, Bob, from work had surgery on his hand last week. Basically tendons grew crazy and forced his hand to shut. A doctor had to go in a cut it to release his hand and give him use of it again.....
Today I suppose was my day to help him bandage it up!
Normally I have a terribly weak stomach and can't tolerate it, but somehow I was able to just fine!
I think when it comes to the people I care about, I can usually put aside my nausea to help out!!!
This was what I got to see when I came to work this morning:

Seriously, I did warn you....
Gross!!!!
Poor Bob!

Monday Madness!

I'm still feeling pretty rotten....my HIDA scan for my gallbladder is scheduled for 6 am on Friday morning. Hopefully we will get some sort of an answer then. I'm feeling extremely nauseous and dizzy. I have noticed more pain going through my back. I never imagined I could have a problem. Little signs here and there were easily dismissed until recently. I never felt the need to see the doctor until I became dizzy. The back pain was simply excused because I thought Caleb was just really heavy. I never stopped to think of all of the symptoms adding up. What mommy has time to think about all of the weird things, aches, and pains going on in their body when they have a young child and a husband to care for? After pregnancy what is normal anyways? I guess you just get so used to feeling crappy! As of now, I'm just hoping it is my gallbladder because that's easy enough to deal with. That sucker comes right out and might not even be missed! I've known a lot of people with gallbladder disease. And my side kick at work just happened to have his removed this past Friday. Makes you wonder what in the world we're putting in our bodies to kill our organs more often....The doctor has called in some medicine to deal with the side effects until I have my HIDA scan. Maybe I will get some rest tonight!

I'm proud to say I am in wedding planning mode! I so look forward to helping my baby brother tie the knot at the end of September. I have been frantically searching for churches, invitations, and reception ideas since I was given the go ahead from my brother! Yes, he did just so happen to wait until the last minute and he doesn't really care about proper etiquette where planning deadlines are concerned. I'm praying that the church my parents got married in is available for that weekend.

Tonight we are all getting together to make plans! I'm so excited!!! Not only do I get to dress my two boys up, but I get to decorate and organize! What could be better???

Caleb's first day at his new day care is today. I have to admit that I had some really super human strength today. I only called once! And it was after lunch! I'm trying not to be one of those overprotective crazy parents. Today, I passed. Tomorrow is another day....

I'm so excited about the weather getting cooler soon! Caleb has all of these cute little clothes from Mom and Debbie and I want him to be able to wear them now! The only sad part is that there are definitely no more baby looking things. Everything is sports, preppy, or motorcycles. In a way it is really exciting to see all of the new adorable things he will be wearing, but I'm going to miss the ducks, lions, and Pooh bear stuff. Atleast Ryan's happy his son is wearing "big dude" stuff....

My Life Is Just Not Complete Until I Have This!

I am absolutely dying (yes, you read that correctly) to have one of Amazon's brand new Kindle reading devices! I figure if I start now someone in my family (AKA Hubby) might get the hint or another family member may slap the information in his face and I can have one in time for this Christmas. If that idea is too farfetched, I can always beg Santa to drop one down my chimney this year!

Have you guys seen this thing yet? There are commercials playing all the time, but when I looked at its features I just couldn't help but fall head over heels in love!

Anyone out there who knows my family personally, please speak to my husband on this matter. Not only will it gain him some HUGE brownie points with his awesome wife, but it will make me one of the happiest people on Earth! I'm so sick of going to Books A Million and shopping, I'm sick of having someone (maybe the person who needs to buy me this) spilling who knows what on my new books, and I'm sick of loosing my spot while I'm trying to finish a book I can't put down! I'm sick of having forty-seven million books lying around and I could be so much more organized and simplified with the Kindle! I don't want to desperately need a new book "right this second" and have to drive all the way to the book store, purchase it, and come back home. I just want to be able to put Caleb to bed and read until 3 am if I want to. I want to be on the beach reading my awesome Kindle in full sunlight like the people on the commercial!

I seriously do not think I've wanted a toy so bad for Christmas since I begged my parents for a Baby Alive. I promise it was not in the last twenty years either! Ha!

Home Sweet Home!

We are finally home and life has returned to normal (if that's what you want to call it)! And look who was here to greet me :

I survived 48 hours away from my precious Boogie Bear!
He was all decked out in his "Cars" pajamas that his granny got him!
They're 18M, but he fills them out perfectly. They're his first "big boy" pajamas!
Mom and Debbie have combined forces to outfit Caleb for Fall and Winter...
Tonight we get to go pick up his new big boy clothes!

Someone (who I will not name here) accidentally pinched Caleb's leg in the stroller strap this weekend in Tellico. I think this person cried over it more than he did! I was prepared when he was dropped off this morning that there would be a mark. When I went to change his clothes, I was expecting a pretty good sized bruise. Um, if I hadn't been looking for it I never would have seen it! Seriously, I know Caleb is going to get bumped and bruised. It's part of growing up and being a boy! I'm not going to freak out everytime he gets a scratch! For the record, I don't think I've ever heard of a child dying or having any long term health complications from getting pinched from the clips they have on every child toy out there. I'm pretty sure he's going to survive this one! And he's already forgotten about it...
I got to spend about thirty minutes with him and then Nana and Pappy stole him for the day so Daddy and I could work!
This poor child will be so absolutely spoiled by the time he goes back to day care tomorrow!

Speaking of day care, Ryan and I made the decision to change providers. I believe a lot of little things that lead to this decision were signs from God that it was time for a change. I do believe Caleb will continue to be in a very loved environment, but he will now have more children his own age to play with and learn from. I feel like this will be a great opportunity for Caleb to learn, play, and grow and it will us to keep our work schedule.

As I'm sitting here in my super comfy (and much appreciated) recliner, I realize just how thankful I am to be home! I despise traveling for long periods of time....It feels so good for things to return to normal now. We had such a great time with my stepbabies being here and we wish we had more time to spend with them, but it will be so nice to get my house back in order! After I get rested from this past weekend, I'm going to begin my Fall Deep Cleaning Week! I'm really looking forward to organizing, cleaning, and preparing for the season change!

As I tackle this new project, I will give advice, post pictures, and provide checklists that may inspire you to do the same! Once you get on a good running system, things naturally stay nice. Since my household has been flipped upside down for the last couple of weeks, this will be a pefect time to show one of the things I love to do! Please feel sorry for my dear hubby as I uproot his place on the couch for the next couple of weeks. I have some honey-do things that need to be done while I'm at it!

Crabby Baby!

Last night we took the kids to see their great-grandparents. Caleb decided he could crawl all over their house and go where he wanted! His favorite thing was standing in front of their sliding glass door and watching all of the birds.

Bryce tried showing Caleb the hummingbirds, but he was too busy banging on the glass!

Afterwards, we decided to surprise the kids with All-You-Can-Eat crab legs!

Those kids go nuts over crab ever since we took them to this awesome seafood buffet at Virginia Beach last year!

My child decided to throw his whole plate of food on the floor....
Ryan had to get me food because if I left Caleb's sight last night he would scream...
By the time we were finished eating, I was covered in cheese and fruit.
My child had smeared it all over his body and thrown everything in the floor.
We'll be lucky if they don't lock the doors when they see us coming next time....
Yeah, I'm one of those parents now.....

Mommies' Day Out

Mom, Tara, and I decided to take the kids to the Chattanooga Zoo this morning. We didn't tell anyone where we were going and just loaded up in the mommy mobile! Okay, I got three adults, two babies with their massive car seats, two children with booster seats, two strollers, and about four diaper bags (each baby had two) in my Honda. Okay, I am absolutely lovin' my car! This gives us so many more options when we go somewhere.

Here we are about to enter the exhibits:
Everyone was really excited!

We saw gorillas first and the kids were amazed they were so close!

"Mommy, are you seeing this????"

"Seriously, we weren't tapping on the glass...."

Me with my babies!

They had a little petting zoo and all the kids got to love on the goats!

Tara: "Um...I don't know if I want to go in there."
Wendy: "Well, I am..."
(I look back and she and Zoey are right behind me.)
Tara: "Wendy, that one looks like it's going to charge at me..."
Wendy: "No, I just think he wants to be petted."
Tara: "He's eating my pants!"

Yeah, Tara got eaten by a goat. She had a hole in her jeans and he clamped onto the strings!
If the goat had in fact bitten her, he would have stopped. The girl ain't got any meat on her!

My little angel's first trip to the zoo!

Of course we all had to ride the carousel!
This was one of the seats and I got Caleb to sit still for a quick picture!
How precious!

We loved the animals on this carousel!
It was all hand carved!

Zoey absolutely loved riding! She actually held on and laughed both times we rode it!
We had the best time!

I hate that Brian and Ryan had to work, but we really enjoyed going out this morning.

I had to go to the doctor this week. I have felt weak and dizzy for the last couple of weeks. The last straw was when I took a bad fall in Tellico this past weekend. Friday night, I walked out of the cabin with mine and Tara's chili in my hands. It had been raining, so everything was already slippery. I fell from the top of the porch stairs to the bottom (about five steps) and landed right on my back. I heard my spine crack, chili went all over my legs, and my butt just plain hurt! Brian helped me over to the camper while I got the chili covered clothes changed. I am so thankful I didn't have Caleb in my arms. Luckily Ryan had him the whole time. I have a bruise that completely covers one half of my butt. I have joked around about having enough padding to break my fall, but if I didn't I really think I could have broken something. If I'm not better in a week or so, my doctor wants to X-ray my spine. Anyways, I found out this week that I am really dehydrated and just so happen to be anemic. I have to start taking a prescription for it and hopefully get it all straightened out. The doctor asked me if I was feeling really run down and I answered yes. He said it's because of my iron levels being so low. No, I thought it was because I have three munchkins running wild in my home....

So, maybe in a week or so I will be feeling better and can keep up with my wild child!

Ryan promised I would receive extra love and queen treatment while I'm feeling icky!
Maybe this isn't so bad after all...
Do I have to take the prescription now???

I'm super excited today! My mom is getting Caleb his first pair of Nike's!!!
I can't wait to see them on him....
We've all predicted that Caleb will be walking by the time he's ten months old. He's getting better at balancing everyday.
I can't believe Nike has such a selection of baby boy shoes!
Check them out here!

Last night we had a huge Wii match! We set up the Wii Fit to see how flexible, balanced, and in shape they were! The hula hoop tournament was hilarious! We laughed so loud at each other that I was afraid we would wake up Caleb. Luckily, that kid sleeps through just about anything! The kids really got into the boxing and helped each other out. Madison and Bryce are so close in age that they really are best friends. Of course they have their fights, but when it comes down to it they can join together to beat any virtual guy's boxin' butt! The Wii has been awesome this week! I think this is the most we've ever played it!

I have no clue what we have planned for tonight, but I'm sure there will be laughter and silliness!

Blogging Updates

I have decided to begin posting on my cooking page again! Now that things have settled down a bit, I am going to try some new recipes, share some more cookbooks I love, and hopefully figure out my menu for the upcoming holiday season. I've got a new link at the top of the page that will take you where you need to go. Please stop by, leave some feedback, and join me as I give this another try!

I really enjoy sharing my life with people. I feel like I am pretty much an open book here. There are some things I choose not to discuss but if there are any questions you'd like to ask I will be sure to answer. I'm not shy by any means, so feel free to ask away!

For those of you (my family, mainly) that read my blog, but don't have blogs of your own, you can still leave comments under each blog post. They can be posted anonymously, but you can always leave your name. I want my blog to be interactive for everyone and I love comments from anyone. It's always exciting to check my messages here....

As you can tell, I have once again changed the look of the blog. I'm still experimenting, but I am certain you all realize how I like to change things often here. I get bored with things easily....

If there's anything you'd like to see on the blog or see more of, please let me know!

Family Pictures

My camera has been practically glued to me lately! I want new pictures while I finish decorating my living room and since the kids are all here, this is the perfect chance!

Last night Caleb wanted to spend time with his big brother! They have really hit it off this trip and Ryan is so excited!
Bryce was playing his new harmonica for Caleb!
Aren't they just the cutest?

Caleb: "Hey, Mom, look! I'm playing with the big kids!"

Nana got Bryce a cowboy hat since he loves Daddy's so much...
Madison and Bryce tried it on Caleb last night!

Ha! I caught them all sitting still!
As you can see, Caleb wasn't too happy about that....

Our quick family picture....

After pictures, Caleb decided he would rather play with a box!

Changes....

I don't like sudden, unexpected changes. There. I said it.

I have OCD tendencies and it really overloads my system when things rapidly change course. I spend a large amount of my time organizing and planning things out. I need things to flow smoothly. At any given time, there are multiple lists surrounding me. There's the "Today's To Do" list, the grocery list, the budget, the cleaning list, and it just goes on from there. Then throw my desk calendar with all of our schedules on it and I'm prepared for the week. Sure, it may take some time to stay that organized, but I really don't mind it. I find there's a certain amount of harmony and calmness that comes with all of my lists.

Ryan knows this about me. He doesn't particularly understand it, but he knows that is how I function. There are times that I just know God is laughing at me and my little plans! He has surely shown his humor this week. We had no idea until the day before that Ryan's children would be joining us this past week. I had to start a new grocery list.....I had to clean the guest room and put on fresh sheets....I had to find childcare at the last moment. For an OCD girl, that equals almost pure panic! I thought this would get easier when Caleb came into our lives, but dang it even he likes my scheduling! I do have to commend my husband and his efforts this week. Not only has he been the "take charge" half of us, but he has smoothed the transition for me. Caleb and I live by the schedule and Ryan is definitely more laid back. Thank Heavens for that! Atleast one of us can chill a little. He seems to even me out a bit....

While there has been chaos in our home, it is amazingly enjoyable. When we settled down for a movie last night, I looked around my living room. One kid in the recliner, one in the glider, a hubby sprawled out on the couch, my angel snuggled up in between us....so comfortable and natural feeling. No tension....no drama....just relaxed like we've been doing the same thing together for years. No lists or planning required!

Two young children who have never been taught to clean up after themselves were thrown into an OCD environment. Maybe we're good for each other? Maybe they help me let loose a little and maybe I instill my organization in them some. I haven't minded being unorganized like I thought I would. It's fun not knowing what we're going to do in the evenings. I like the spur of the moment plans! It's exciting for not only me, but for the kids as well. They love all of the surprises from me and Daddy. If it makes their stay happier, I'm all for it!

119 Pictures Later....

Ryan tends to make fun of my photography obsession, especially when it comes to our kids. I'm always looking for that one special shot or just a way to remember exactly how much fun we had. I have a desire to make massive scrapbooks! Since Friday evening I have taken one hundred and nineteen pictures with my digital camera! So, here is our weekend recap with LOTS of pictures!!!

We loaded into the car on Friday evening and took off for Tellico....

Three Excited and Happy Children Ready to Go!!!

We were greeted by my parents and little Miss Zoey on Dad's new golf cart.
He bought this thing for Tellico. I can already tell it's going to be a huge hit in our Tellico community!
Bryce and Madison absolutely loved riding and driving it....

Zoey: "Hey, dude, I can crawl like no body's business!"
Caleb: "Girl, that is so last week's news..."

Yes, my beautiful little princess is now crawling!!!
We're planning on racing them one weekend. I've heard Zoey is really fast!

My prediction was right!
Zoey and Madison really hit it off!
Zoey would babble at Madison and just smile sweetly.
I told Madison they were having Zoey's first "girl talk"!

Caleb was dancing with his Granny....
He loves to stand up....

No Tellico trip would be complete without loving on Granddaddy....
You can tell they are going to be buddies for life!

Daddy took Madison and Bryce fishing at the pond on Saturday.
No one seemed to be catching anything and we had no luck either.
The weather here seems to be too much on the trout and they have been dying from the heat.

Caleb was content eating his fruit pieces....

The kids begged me for a golf cart ride!
Caleb, Madison, and Bryce all took turns driving.
That experience shall not be discussed right now, but as you can see I made it back in one piece!

When they couldn't talk Daddy and me into going again, they convinced my parents it would be a good idea!

When we got home, we surprised the kids with a trip to Lake Winnie.
We met Ryan's parents and had a great time!
I convinced Bryce and Madison to ride their first grown up roller coaster.
Madison sat next to me and kept her arms held in the air for a lot of the ride.
When we got done, I asked her if she loved it and she said yes!
I asked Bryce and he said he hated it, but smiled the whole time...
Caleb got to ride a few things and had a blast....
The first ride I took him on was Dumbo. I can remember riding it for the first time when I was itty bitty!

I sat out with Caleb during the bumper cars, but I really enjoyed watching my family knock the crap out of each other....

.
When we brought the kids to Lake Winnie last year, I was still pregnant with Caleb.
It's amazing to see how much a year can change things!

Daddy, Caleb and Mommy on the carousel for the first time!
He loved the horses!
Daddy and I, on the other hand, pretty much cannot handle going around in circles like that.
We both agreed we were nauseous!

On Sunday morning, I decided to make everyone baby pancakes.

Since it's a special week with Bryce and Madison being here, we have pretty much let them have fun with their food choices. Ryan and I make pretty cool parents!
Chocolate drizzled baby pancakes with fruit has to be one of the best breakfasts I have ever made:

This kids chowed down on these!
It's so good to see them eat a lot because it's unusual.
They get so excited about doing stuff that they don't take the time to eat much.
Needless to say, all plates were cleaned this morning!
I sooooo rock at being a mommy!

So, there's part of our weekend. I will finish the rest as soon as my batteries in my camera recharge and I get more pictures!!!
