His Wishlists

It has been suggested to me that I make a wishlist for Caleb's first birthday. I guess it would be a lot simpler to let everyone know what Caleb likes and needs for his birthday instead of just guessing. I wish more parents did this for their children. I hate giving a gift that a child may not want!

Here are a couple of things Caleb and his mommy are wanting for his birthday...

We really need a place to store Caleb's growing toy collection!

This would match his bed perfectly!

Tell me he wouldn't just love this little Power Wheels four wheeler!

We'd have the perfect place to drive it: the soon-to-be finished family room!

And he would go absolutely nuts over this one....

He loves anything with wheels and I could see this keeping his attention for a bit!

And no toy collection would complete without....

As some of you may remember, I plan to decorate our guest bathroom for Caleb. I am hoping that he receives some of the bath decor so I can pull this off for him. You can find it HERE!

My New Project

In our area, the local TV station hosts a "Share Your Christmas" food drive each year. I believe this has been going on for over 25 years now. I have decided to collect non-perishable food items at Island Cove Marina and Resort from now until the food drive in an effort to motivate people around me to give to those less fortunate. The morning of the food drive, I'm loading all of the donated items and heading down to represent our marina. For the person that donates the most food to Island Cove, I am awarding a free night in our beautiful hotel.

Christmas is my favorite time of the year and I want to share joy with those around me this holiday season. Ryan, Caleb and I have so many things to be thankful for this year and God has taken good care of us. Now, it's time for us to give back to the community. I believe the Lord put something into my heart yesterday when the idea came to me. I feel like He is leading me to do something so much greater with my life right now. I have the ability to reach out to many people right now and encourage them to help others.

I am so excited about this opportunity and am praying that it goes well. Maybe this is the start of a tradition for the marina....

It was such a beautiful ceremony. I am so happy to have been a part of their special day.

To my brother and "new sister": I wish you all of the happiness in the world as you take the next big step in your life together. Marriage is a beautiful gift and should be cherished as long as you live. Every day of it won't be sunshine and butterflies, but if you work for it each day will bring you closer. Lean on each other when times get tough and celebrate together in times of bliss. May God bless you each and every step of the way.... I love you both.

Okay, so here is our master bedroom.....

I alternate between red, dark brown, and beige sheets for our bed....

I found the light weight quilt a while back and have really enjoyed it.

It's perfect for the Spring and Summer months.

I'm hoping to find something a little warmer soon!

I've seen a bunch of episodes of MTV Cribs over the years and I kinda want to say:

"This is where all the magic happens!"

But, I suppose Caleb is evidence of that?!?!

This hangs over our bed....

Ryan bought it for me while we were visiting an antique store and I just love it!

I think it's something every couple should remember....

This is my dresser which is located directly across from the bed.

It isn't a great picture, but this is Ryan's chest of drawers and our TV.

Our bedroom furniture came from Rooms To Go.

The quilt was purchased from Target online.

The jersey sheets were found at WalMart (on sale too)!

The small figurine is Willow Tree (which I absolutely love).

The candleholders were a wedding gift, but I believe I saw a similar set at Kirkland's.

Our wall hangings and such have been fabulous antique store finds over the last few years.

Oh, What A Night!

What an exhausting evening we had last night! My mom and I took Caleb to Babies R Us to pick out his outfit for Brian and Tara's wedding. He's going to be so cute, but I'll wait for this weekend to show the pictures!

While we were there, all of the Halloween outfits were on sale. I found the perfect one for Caleb! We tried it on as soon as we got home!

Mommy is super excited!

I also made a bad mistake last night....

My mom pushed Caleb down the toy aisle. I picked up a cute truck and showed it to Caleb.

HUGE MISTAKE!

When I went to put it back on the shelf, he screamed in misery.

Guess what went home with us.....

One happy kid!

After Caleb went to bed last night, Ryan and I played around with the Jeep.

He's so excited about it....

One happy hubby!

It's Been A While....

I'm a little on the tomboy side. There's really no denying that! I'd rather get out to go Jeep riding, play football, or go to our camper. Needless to say, I don't do much dressing up! While I am so honored to be one of Tara's bridesmaids this weekend, I so dread wearing a dress for a few hours....

My friend, Cortney, had a beautiful pink dress and let me borrow it. Luckily it fits perfectly! Thank Heavens for that gallbladder surgery and loosing ten pounds these past two weeks! So, here's my dress for this Saturday....
