Workin' 9 to 5....Oh, Wait! That's Not Me....

Not ever gonna happen! My work-a-holic self just can't seem to work less than forty hours a week these days. The Chattanooga Boat Show was last week and I logged in many exhausting hours! I'm not going to lie, I enjoyed every minute of it because it's something different from my normal routine. My body is not thanking me very much today. It's not as forgiving as it was a child ago  four or five years ago .....Most of our work consisted of standing on a concrete floor for hours.

Ahhh! See that floor?!?

Just a few of my babies....

I have come to terms with the fact that I am the pontoon selling queen of the marina. Ha! I don't know what it is about those boats, but I can sell the heck out of them. Maybe it's the versatile customer base or the family atmosphere that surrounds a pontoon boat, but I tend to reach out to more people in that boat line. Ten to fifteen years ago if you said, "I own a pontoon boat," I would have looked down at my shoes and said, "I'm sorry...." It's just not that way anymore. As technology has improved and the styles have changed, pontoon boats have grown to be very popular in our area. When the economy took a hit, people still wanted something to play on but didn't want to take their families out and run the gas out of a boat all day. The pontoon craze was born! What better way to get a lot of people across the water without spending a fortune? These days pontoon boats are loaded with luxury and convenience. Who would have imagined ten years ago you could get plush, comfy seats and a sink on one of those things???

The pontoon boats our parents had....

How pontoon boats are supposed to look!

See my point???

So you may wonder where my precious child was during this show....
I have to give a lot of thanks to some people!
Besides the fact that he sorta forgot bath time, Ryan was so much help while I was at the show. Not only did he make sure Caleb was happy, but he even managed to feed the kid! All joking aside, I couldn't have pulled this past week off without him. He even brought Caleb all the way down to the show so I could love all over him!
(No, he doesn't read my blog and I wasn't putting it out there to earn brownie points!)

Besides my dad (I made sure he worked too), the grandparents and Aunt Debbie were my lifesavers.
Mom kept Caleb for us a couple of times and they had the best time together. Caleb got to spend time with his cousin, Zoey, and his Aunt Debbie this weekend too! Then he got spoiled even more by his Nana and Pappy on Sunday.
Let me tell you, when we dropped him off at school today he pitched a fit. He was so used to getting his way and being treated like a king that he did NOT want us to leave!

So...that was my weekend. How was yours?

He Calls Me Mommy....

Okay, so Caleb has been calling me "Mama" for a while now.

Just so happened to be his first word. Not trying to brag or anything....

Then along came "Dada" and we were really getting excited. We've recently noticed that when he whines and tries to talk things come out with a "y" sound at the end. So here and there we've started hearing "Mama-y" or "Dada-y" really long and drawn out in his whiney voice.

This morning on our way to "school" Caleb was jabbering in the back seat. He started saying "Daddy...Daddy...Daddy" perfectly! I asked him if he could say "Mommy" and he just kind of looked at me like I was stupid.

This was a particularly low morning for me because I am working the boat show this whole weekend and I literally won't see my baby until Sunday evening. This was my very last chance to love on him for a few days.

I picked him up out of his car seat and started walking towards his day care. I was kissing on him a little a lot and he looked at me and said, "Mommy!"

Okay, totally made my day....

He said my name for the very first time and it was the most amazing thing I think I've ever heard!

I'm praying for Tripp. Will you?

This has been weighing on my mind and heart lately and now I come to you asking for your prayers. In the blogging community, many times we come across some sort of a cause through a blog of a blog or what not. I have been following Tripp's story for a few months now and that sweet baby has been in my thoughts and prayers so many times. If you click on the picture above, it will lead to Courtney's page about her baby boy. Tripp has a very rare skin disease and he's not doing very well right now. He has defied the odds and doctors' predictions time after time and he leads a very difficult life. Courtney seems to be having a really tough time lately and if you could stop by and give her some encouragement, I think it would really help. If you are a fellow blogger, please tell your friends! Let's support Courtney and Tripp!

Professional Pics....

Mom was able to get me a copy of Caleb and Zoey's professional pics from last year and I wanted to share them with you guys....

Why in the world was Caleb fine with this Santa???
Because luckily it was his Granddaddy!
My dad was finally convinced to play Santa for his grandbabies!

Isn't he cute?
I just love this picture...

Boat Show and Bath Time

My boy has a love of boats in his blood. From the time he was a few weeks old until now he has been raised around them. With Ryan and I both in the boat business, how could he not? We visited the Island Cove guys at the Dalton boat show this weekend and Caleb couldn't get enough of the Tracker boats!

Granddaddy grabbed him up as soon as we walked in.

And stuck him in the fancy Nitro bass boat.
He just loved it!

Working on his sales pitch....

I think he wants it!

Caleb loves to act like he's driving anything...
He loves my mommy mobile!
He's definitely Daddy's little car guy!

I realized I hadn't gotten any new bath pics.
Caleb is so energetic about bath time. I can ask him if he's ready for a bath and he'll run to the bath tub and fling open the shower curtain.

The Joys of Girl's Night

My bestie, Jessica, and I finally had a chance to catch up yesterday! Believe it or not we have both had such chaotic lives that we haven't seen each other in a couple of months. I think that's like a record or something. Oh, how I have missed her! We started gabbing from the time she walked in the door until she left around 10! Yeah, it's been way too long. Ryan was more than happy to excuse himself to his garage last night after dinner!

I was so proud of myself! I remembered to grab my camera for some quick shots!
Caleb got so excited when he saw Jessica and her son, D!
(By the way, footie pajamas are so awesome!)

Caleb was so excited to show off all his toys!

We had such a great time and I can't wait to make a habit of it again!

Tellico Plans

Ryan, Caleb and I spent some time outside of the house on Saturday. We've had so much snow and bad weather, I feel like we really got cooped up. We decided to travel about 50 miles north of Chattanooga and visit a building supply store. We've seen plenty of commercials for Hall's Salvage in Sweetwater, Tennessee over the past few years. Heck, we pass by it every time we go to Tellico. This place is amazing! Their inventory varies all of the time and they really have some great deals. I found premade, natural wood shelves for $1.99 a piece. Sure, Ryan could have made them for me around that same price. The point is that he is so busy with all of the other honey do list items that I just bought them. $1.99 for a two foot shelf is a great price! I bought eight because I need plenty of space to store my black bear collection in Tellico. Since moving into our new camper almost two years ago and insulating the porch addition, I lost a lot of little nooks for sticking my black bears. When we get it all finished, it's going to look amazing!

Ryan and I have been doing some serious Tellico planning in the last couple of weeks. With Caleb getting bigger and Spring coming quick, we really need to do some adjusting there. Caleb is quickly outgrowing the Pack N Play. I can almost count the number of times he used it there. Since we carpeted the porch addition last year, Ryan and I have been looking for some type of bedding option for Caleb. I think we have narrowed down our choices. Have any of you seen these things?

These weigh about 7 pounds and are perfect for a toddler. Ryan and I have been researching some of these and they seem to be everything we need for Tellico!

"Whether you have an infant or ‘big kid’ the PeaPod Plus is the perfect travel bed. For short trips across town when naptime nears, or long cross country vacations, the PeaPod Plus becomes your child’s own portable bedroom. And it’s so lightweight even your child can carry it. The inflatable air mattress helps protect from cold, hard surfaces (inside or out) and provides a comfortable place to sleep or play. Great for outdoors because of its UV protection and adjustable wind screens. A large front zipper panel allows parents quick access to infants or easy in/out for older boys. The slick, easy to fold design makes it ideal for storage and use at a moment’s notice. Includes anchor straps."

I have just fallen in love with these things! I am really loving the yellow one. I think if we set it up as Caleb's "play tent" before our first trip with it, he would really take to it.

I'll be so glad to see the Pack N Play go. We have really enjoyed it, but it takes up a lot of space in the camper. We set it up where our table usually goes. We would really like to have a meal there instead! Our porch addition is really going to come in handy as Caleb gets older. We have a flat screen out there. I can see satellite service (all you can ever get on the mountain) in our near future. Since Caleb is going to be out there more, we are installing paneling with plenty of insulation. It will make it way more comfy! And that is also where I'm getting the wall space to hang my shelves! The futon that currently resides there is leaving (Hallelujah!) and Ryan is getting us a reclining loveseat! Yea! This is what I'm really hoping for:

Maybe it will be our anniversary gift this year....

Parts Department Tour

Look all of our parts are in their new location!
It looks so pretty!

Then everything else got to come up...
It was a long process....
Look! There's almost my new window on the right hand side!!!

My brother and Gary came up to check things out.

Bo doing absolutely nothing....
I finally have the proof!

Ryan has been working on all the framing for the old building.
They're turning it into a shop.
Ryan has really enjoyed doing something different this week.

The view from my desk....
I now have some sort of a "window"....
Yeah, this has been one really long project.

Until someone finishes my window, this is how my office looks.
Everything is a wreck because I had to move everything away from the wall.
You can imagine my happiness... :(

The glass for my future window....

A view of the Ship Store!

Look how pretty!

You have now gotten a personal tour of the new Island Cove Marina Parts Department and Ship Store!
We have doubled our space here and I really think things are working out well.
I've had an office isolated from most of my coworkers for years now. While it has been a change getting used to everyone being together, I think I'm really going to like it.

Some of you new people to the blog may wonder what exactly it is I do around the marina. I have worked there since I was 16 years old. I am fortunate enough to work with my dad, brother, and hubby every day of the week! Dad runs the place, I'm the office manager, and Brian and Ryan are boat techs. Dad and I are both licensed boat captains with the United States Coast Guard and Brian and Ryan are certified Mercury Marina boat technicians. In the past few years we have all really pursued more education.

I have seen ten years go by here and I really enjoy my job.
During that time I have seen many great changes for this place and the new Part Department is just one of them.
