Last night we joined some of our friends for dinner and a movie.
We tried a new Mexican restaurant and really enjoyed it.
Ryan and I both had the fajitas and they were pretty good.
We just love this group of people and always have the best time!
We have been so fortunate to find a group of friends with great sense of humors and who have so much in common with us. God has truly blessed us!
I know that some of you out there struggle with finding good friends or people who share the same interests in life. I definitely recommend trying a church small group. For a couple of years Ryan and I noticed that most of the friends we grew up with were walking different paths in life. Most of them had older children, no children, or were still single. We didn't fit in when it came to us having a young family. Ryan and I were welcomed with open arms into our small group and it has been uplifting to find that there are genuinely good people out there. Our group meets the needs of those around us, prays for each other, shares life's ups and downs, and encourages each other to grow in our faith. We cheer for our SEC football teams (even though we aren't all Volunteer fans...), laugh at the crazy things our children say and do, and always serve the best food!
If you're single, go anyway! Churches have great small groups who meet the needs of the singles out there. Plus, you never know what the Lord may do! If you're married, go for your marriage. I believe if Ryan and I had gone earlier in our relationship, we would have saved ourselves a LOT of heartache! If your spouse doesn't want to go with you, that's okay too. Join a ladies class and pray for your husband.
If you have a family, I truly believe church benefits you the most. Having an infant or toddler is challenging! Why not seek support and encouragement from people who understand? Equip yourselves with knowledge to raise your children to love and follow the Lord. It's the single greatest accomplishment you can obtain as a parent.
Whatever place you or your family are in right now, there is a place for you.
Instead of Sunday evening service, our church gathered at a local movie theater to see the new movie Courageous.
For those of you interested in seeing this movie, I will not spoil it for you here!
It was great and we all walked out inspired to be better parents and followers of the Lord.
