For our friends and family looking for a Caleb update, we made a visit to our regular doctor today. We found out that strep is very common when children have hand, foot, and mouth disease. Caleb still wasn't feeling better, so we decided it would be best to go ahead and test for strep. Praise the Lord, Caleb does not have strep!
We did find out that since his immune system has been compromised with the hand, foot, and mouth disease, Caleb has a secondary infection. He has a pretty nasty sinus infection and must now take ten days worth of antibiotics. We are alternating between pain medicines right now to give him some relief.
Ryan and I have had very tough week with our pitiful looking child! For the past two days, he has wanted to be held quite a bit. He has spent plenty of time snuggling with Gran and getting spoiled by her. She has been able to help us out a lot this week. She helped me get him to the doctor today and has been able to get Caleb to eat some. I am so very thankful for everything she has done for us.
We have all been so lucky that Zoey hasn't gotten any of this so far. Caleb was around her quite a bit last week and over the weekend. We had absolutely no idea he had been exposed and we are praying we didn't pass it on to anyone else.
Thank you so very much for your prayers, kind words, and thoughts of my family this week. We really appreciate everyone who has reached out to us and wished us well.
