As Christmas draws near, my greatest wish is that my family pauses to remember the true reason for this season. It's so easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of buying gifts...going here and there...spending time with those we love. So many people get stressed or depressed this time of year. So many have lost sight of the true meaning.
Caleb is beginning to notice Santa and gifts. While he thinks that they are the most awesome thing on Earth, I desperately need for him to know that there's something much more wonderful than decorations, cookies, and presents. God gave us the greatest gift of all time: His Son, Jesus Christ. A precious baby was brought into this world to bear all of our sins and He paid the ultimate price. When I think of how very much I love my child, it makes it so much more meaningful to me.
This year has been a year of discovery for me. I have found the true joy and peace that comes with allowing the Lord to lead me. I realized that He takes care of my life so much better than I ever could! I wait for the day that my own son discovers this for his own life. I am so very thankful that many, many years ago, God loved us all enough to send His own Son into this world. It is by far the most important gift anyone could receive!
