31 Days to A Better You - Day 1

If you're active in the blog world, many of you have already heard of the 31 Days Series over on the Nester that starts this week. Well, it looks like I'll be joining in. I'd love to tell you that it was so easy to come up with what I wanted to share for a whole 31 days. Honestly, I can only really begin to teach you one thing at this point. I'm not great at decorating. I sure as heck have no idea what I'm going to do with that toddler in my home who has entered the horrible three's. I can't promise I can teach you to cook something different for 31 days. But I can show you exactly how I'm losing weight. I figure if you struggle with your weight as much as I do, I can at least show you how I am finally taking the extra off.

If you're joining me from the Nester, I have documented my journey so far and you can check out the tab at the top of this page. At this point, I've lost almost 40 pounds. It has been a struggle and I am so stinkin' busy with life it makes it near impossible for me to put forth some huge effort to loose weight quickly. I want to show you that it can be done. Please join me for the next 31 days so I can share what works for me!

I have learned that my water intake is the key to my success. The times that I drink enough water throughout the day determines how much I lose. If I'm not drinking water, I just plain don't lose anything. It's really as simple as that. If your body is deprived of water, your organs don't function properly. Guess what isn't happening if your organs aren't functioning properly? Your body isn't ridding itself of excess waste materials and you won't be losing any weight. Your body will try to hold onto every single thing you put in to make up for what it isn't getting.

So, how many ounces of do I drink  per day? I feel so much better when I drink half of my body weight in ounces of water. For instance, if I weighed 200 pounds I would try to drink about 100 ounces of water. I know that it seems like a lot of water, but it really makes all the difference.

When you first start doing this, you will pee a LOT! But, your body does adjust to it. After the first week, I noticed I had a lot more energy and many of the aches and pains in my body lessened.

If you aren't much of a water drinker, stop by tomorrow for my fix for that!
