Sitting With Santa

Last night Ryan and I thought it was time to brave the mall and visit Santa. Every year, we have taken Caleb to see Santa and it really hasn't worked out well for us. I've dreamed of the day that my sweet boy would sit on Santa's lap willingly and tell him what he wished for on Christmas morning. Each year, we've walked away knowing that it just wasn't going to work out just yet....

I can finally (and proudly) say that this was our year!!! I don't know if it's all the Christmas movies we've been watching or the arrival of Jeff the Elf, but something clicked for Caleb this year.

We waited in line for about forty-five minutes. Luckily Nana and Pa came for emotional support....

Caleb started out pretty good....

I thought he looked adorable in his little outfit....

And as time went on, things got a little tough. Poor kids should not have to wait that long to see Santa... Just sayin'!
We turned a corner and we could see Santa's hand! Caleb was so sweet just waiting for one glimpse of him!

When we got closer, Caleb was wild! I just knew he was getting geared up to really act out...

As soon as it was his turn, he walked right up to Santa and proceeded to behave himself!
SHOCK OF THE CENTURY RIGHT THERE!
He nicely told Santa he wanted a tool bench for Christmas and he smiled for a picture.
For some reason he also told Santa he didn't feel good. I think he was referring to feeling bad last week and almost offered it as an excuse for his behavior!

And this year, I finally got our first presentable Santa picture!

Here's a look at previous years....
