July 4th

We spent our Fourth of July kinda quiet. Ryan and I worked while the kids went out bowling with their Nana and Pa. It was just so rainy and blah around here that it was hard to find something really fun to do.

We went out to eat at their favorite pizza place and walked around the pet store.

We surprised the kids with my latest addiction: frozen yogurt from Sweet Frog!

Caleb absolutely loves this place too!

In the middle of eating, he got up and walked around to my table. He threw his little arms around my neck and said, "Thank you for getting me ice cream, Mama!" Then he walked back to his seat and ate the rest.

I swear he seriously makes my heart melt.

Caleb wanted to share the love with his brother and sister.
Poor things have no idea how to deal with Caleb's craziness.
I keep forgetting Ryan and I are just used to it.

Granny got Caleb his first pair of rain boots and that child is determined to wear them everywhere, rain or shine.

Luckily for him, we had plenty of rain to test them out in yesterday!

We stopped to jump in every puddle!

Sometimes I forget how to have fun like this, but Caleb is constantly making me slow down to enjoy the simple things in life. I'm so grateful that he does. I get to be a kid with him all over again!

And the funniest conversation of the night goes to Caleb:

Me: "Caleb, what did Jesus do?"
Caleb: "Made fireworks!"
Me: "I was looking for something along the lines of 'Died on the cross'."
Caleb: "Oh... Jesus died on the cross!"

We've done a lot of talking about how God made everything. I just never expected him to go there with the fireworks!
