Everything Changes

Ready to see what losing 75 pounds looks like?

I started my journey in November of 2011.
As of this week, I have lost 75 pounds!

While the weight loss is one of the biggest parts of this story, I want to point out how my healthy changes have transformed my entire life.
I look and feel better than I have my entire adult life!

I spent several years not caring for myself and it really showed.

When you set out to lose weight, you don't think about the parts of your life that have to change.
It isn't all about diet and exercise. It isn't just about your body toning and losing the fat that jiggles.

It's more than that....

Your marriage changes.
Your family changes.
Your skin and hair change.
Your ways of thinking change.
You start wanting to paint your toenails because you can actually reach your feet again.
You want to wear nicer clothes.
You actually want to put makeup on.
You want to fix your hair since it looks and feels healthier.
Your goals change.
Your friendships change.

I'm not the same person at all.
Everything changed.

  7. You look so beautiful! You should be SO proud of how far you have come. A true inspiration!! It is amazing how EVERYTHING changes. I know I never thought about that, when I set out to lose weight. One thing I don't think I took into consideration is how much it costs...lol! I mean for one, healthy food does cost more and when you have to keep replacing clothes that are too big, that really adds up as well!

    1. Thank you, Lori! I agree with the clothing thing. I'm looking at another closet purge this week and have just been dreading it! When I started, I focused on getting back into my "skinny" wardrobe that I hadn't worn in years. All of my favorite jeans were 12's. Now I'm faced with the fact that I can't wear them again, but for a different reason! I looked forward to them for so long and didn't wear them long this time at all...Go figure, right?!?

  8. Aw, I bet your personality didn't change ;) The same hope and drive that showed you that you can make change, the desire to take good care of your family, the "joy of life' (jut found in maybe different ways now!) Congratulations on becoming healthier for your own sake and for your family!

    1. Actually it really did. I went from someone who didn't believe in herself, someone who seriously lacked self-esteem, and someone who was totally moody to someone who enjoys life fully now! It's amazing how feeling bad can alter your personality. I never imagined it was that bad!

    1. I remember a time Ryan was putting my socks on me 'cause I couldn't bend down. Forget painting my toes! Ha! I tried once....It came out lookin' like a Pre-K kid did it!

  13. You are beautiful no matter what size you are, but it is so nice to be comfortable in your own skin. It really does change your mood and how you react to people. It's not to not be afraid to stand in front of people for fear of judgement. More importantly, when I eat better, I just feel like doing more. Good nutrition has been my start down the road to overall fitness. I now feel so good that I've started running. I'm dragging the rest of my family out with me too. Your good health is a great example for your children. Thanks so much for sharing your story at the Get Fit Friday Hop. You are really an inspiration to me and our readers as well. I hope you come back to visit us often. I look forward to reading much more.
