Motivation Monday #linkup #weightloss #fitness

I completely got off track over the holiday weekend! It really doesn't bother me like it once did. I know that I can jump right back on track because my healthy living habits are part of my life now. I'm not on a fad diet or any kind of pills. When it all comes down to it, you really don't need that stuff.

You simply cannot drastically restrict calories, eat zero carbs, or take pills or supplements every day for the rest of your life. It's just not realistic. There are so many drinks/shakes/pills on the market for weight loss. Over time, these things come and go. Companies go out of business. Whatever...

What happens if you've depended upon these things to reach your weight loss goals and then they're just gone?

Healthy eating, water, unprocessed foods, working out..... These things will be here for the long run. Those basics will always be available. You don't have to complicate life and your efforts by going overboard.

My weight loss has been steady and slow. But the key to all of this is that I have found a way to live for the rest of my life. That's bigger than the weight loss. I can have the body I want without expensive shakes, teas, pills, or supplements. You don't have to spend thousands of dollars on things that could eventually hurt you more than help you.

Let's get back to the basics, y'all. Whole foods (lean meats, fruits, veggies, grains), plenty of water, and move your booty. That's all it takes. There's no "secret" to it.

I love this... well said

  1. I completely agree! My husband and I decided that we aren't going to eat things we wouldn't want to eat for the rest of our lives. What is the point if you can't or won't stick with it?

  2. I indulged over the weekend myself, but what excited me was that I continued to count calories and I continued to thinking about what I was eating. I think you are so right about creating a plan you can actually live with.

  3. Doesn't it feel great to be able to say that?? I love being able to just start right back on track without even a glance in the other direction. There really are and it bugs me to no end to read about people doing the 'fad diets' or wraps or pills or _insert_fad_here_ ya know? I stress so much to people how important it is to not only eat enough to sustain/compensate for your activity (most people don't eat enough) and to find that balance that works for you. People are shocked when I tell them I don't do/rely on endless amounts of cardio and restricting diets. Heck, I eat chocolate in some form almost every day :) lol. Love this post and that's really what is important- finding balance and what will work long term.

  4. just found your blog by searching for weight loss success blogs. Really nice blog and it is very motivating for the rest of us who are still working at losing weight to see the results you have achieved. Thanks for sharing what you have learned along the way with the rest of us.
