This past Saturday was the Nooga Strong, Zumba® Strong benefit for the families of the soldiers killed in Chattanooga a little over two weeks ago. I'll have to say that there's nothing quite like the force of a large group of Zumba® fitness instructors when they decide to band together to help the community. Each of the ladies involved gave their time, effort, and hearts to pull off an amazing benefit. I am just so proud to be associated with such an amazing group of women. They inspire me in so many ways and I am blessed to know them.
I got to lead one of my favorite Zumba® fitness songs, Toy en Ti. My Bayside Divas jumped to the front row and they completely rocked our song!!!! They were fabulous and brought tons of energy!
The room was packed with people and it was so awesome seeing everyone getting into it! My girls were leading the way and completely nailed the choreo! I was so thankful to look out and see familiar faces. I'm fairly shy, so jumping up in front of all of those people is intimidating!
We danced for two hours and there were so many instructors! We rotated through a great playlist and everyone did a wonderful job. We have some talented women in Chattanooga, y'all!
If you've never tried Zumba® fitness before, I urge you to go. It's not just the workout. Time after time, I have told you that it is so much more. I have made some of the best friendships through it. I have met so many people and have had the chance to share my life with them. We laugh together, cry together and pray together. I could not imagine my life without these beautiful women.
And it's always a good day when I don't fall flat on my face or forget my choreo!
We raised over $5,000 for the families and I am so thankful to be a part of it! The ladies who organized it did an amazing job in just a short amount of time. They have huge hearts and have been a shining light in such a tragedy.
