Blank Slate

My husband and I are tackling some projects around the house this week. We are hosting Thanksgiving with his family this year and I am excited to show some progress in our home. It's great motivation to get some of the finishing things done.

I have learned a lot this year about the way Ryan and I work together. We are very goal oriented and work well from lists. If we make a deadline, we work like crazy to meet it. We actually seem to thrive on it. I have to admit that I was very unmotivated to paint the trim in our bedroom. It's just not appealing to me at all until I get about half way through.

Saturday we finished the trim in our bedroom. I now have a blank slate to decorate. I am so looking forward to it!

Ryan actually won a bigger TV for our bedroom. Caleb's football team had a raffle for homecoming. My husband went nuts with it and actually ended up winning.

I found a cute mason jar with our initial on it on Zulily a while back. It was just a plain wood piece, but I got to paint it to match my dining room. I can't wait to see it hung up!

It feels fabulous to knock out little things around the house. It's the finishing touches that are tying everything together. There is an end in sight!
